As the first rays of the new year's sun painted the sky, anticipation filled the air, and a sense of renewal swept through the world, people across the globe awoke to the promise of a fresh start, eager to embark on new journeys and pursue resolutions with newfound determination. New Year in our household was very relaxed and more of just spending time together as a family as we settle into the new place. The bright sun in the morning was a very refreshing experience after very cloudy and cold winter mornings from the time we arrived. We started the day with a family prayer.

My girls and husband wanted crepes for breakfast while i sipped my morning pick up drink. Green tea with a slice of lemon is a perfect combination of antioxidants and Vitamin C and is a powerhouse of health benefits. I do not drink tea or coffee so this is my go to morning drink. I have a few personal favourite brands of green tea that are easily available on Amazon and I will share the link of a few at the end of this blog.

We watched the midnight New Year fireworks at London on television. Kids were very thrilled to watch the Tower Bridge stand proudly against the night sky, its silhouette adorned with bursts of vibrant fireworks that reflect off the River Thames below. The kids shouted with joy as they pointed at the London Eye which was the focal point for the breathtaking spectacle, with its giant observation wheel serving as a canvas for the choreographed explosions of light.

For lunch we had homemade pizza. The best part about homemade pizza is the sauce. I always boil broccoli and cauliflower along with tomato and puree them. Mix them with some tomato paste and mixed herbs, Voila! you have made the perfect healthy and delicious pizza sauce. Try it and let me know what you think.

My husband (girls call him Appu) took the girls out for a walk in the evening and they came back with their New Year treats. The day ends with the usual bedtime routine as we go to sleep thankful to be able to be a part of another year of love, togetherness and mercy. Thank you 2023, you have been good!
