Day 16/366

Good News! The girls have finally been allotted a school from the council and we couldn't wait to go see the school. After breakfast, the girls and I walked to the school, which isn't very far from where we stay. On our way they kept talking about the things they want to do once they start school and of the many things they may get to do once school starts. Was nice to see them walk hand-in-hand and have their little chat while we walk to their new school. Once we reached school, I rang up the office to let us in as the main school gates are always locked. We were let in and a lady from the administration office greeted us at the front door. As we got into the school, a class of kids were coming out for their outdoor activity. My girls were so thrilled to see them and how they were all dressed in school uniform (which my girls have never had to wear when they were going to Brunei school). The lady gave us a quick tour of the school and also told us about the school timings and what my girl would need in order to start school at the earliest. While we were still talking to her, the head teacher of the school very kindly came out to welcome us informally to the school and reassured the girls that they are going to have a great time in the new school. After we received all the forms and list of things we will need to get before the girls start school, we thanked the lady and left school. The very minute we left the school gates, the girls were just non stop asking me if they could start school tomorrow. They were just waiting to get back to a school set up and do all the fun things that they were hoping to do and importantly spend time with kids of their age. I was just so happy to see how excited they were about it all and I hope and pray they do have a great time in their new school.

We walked back home and decided to celebrate by eating out for lunch. The girls had pizza and sausage rolls and a drink of their choice. Very happy and excited two girls came back home with their hearts and tummies full. Happy girls, Happy Ammu. We decided to rest for a while at home and then go hunting for our school necessities in the shops nearby. Though we found a few things, we could find all of it. So we decided to go back home as it was getting late and Appu would be coming home soon and dinner wasn't ready yet. Half hearted they agreed to go back home though they really wanted to get all from the list and start school the very earliest. I can only imagine their excitement. Poor girls! It's been so long since they have been not going to school or doing things they would have if we were in Brunei. Thankfully very soon that will be sorted. I am a strong believer of the fact that, 'Everything will happen at it right time', you just need to be patient and wait. Trust the process and you will reap the benefits.

For dinner tonight, I decided to make something special to celebrate. I made dosa, meduvada and dal. It is a south Indian classic vegetarian dish and this was my first time trying to make meduvada at home. There is an asian store nearby and we get to buy most of the asian foods, spices and other condiments. I had the dosa batter that was bought earlier in the refrigerator. Meduvada and dal curry was made from scratch and though the whole process is a bit tedious, the end product was yummy and I was very happy too. The girls enjoyed the meduvada. So all in all a happy day.

Hope you had a good day too.

Love

Ammu
