Day 19/366
- Jan 19, 2024
- 2 min read

Today we decided to visit the library yet again. It has been more than a week since we went last and the girls were excited to go again. This time they had decided to get books and read on their own as the last time it was me reading to them all the time though my older one knows to read. Anyways, after a late snack, which usually is a fruit in the morning, we left to the library. On our way there, a gentleman stopped us and asked us a few questions. He was volunteering for the deaf children's organisation and were trying to make about it to the people who pass by him. My younger one without any hesitation (like as if she knew him from long) answered all his questions, name, age, where we were heading to, what we plan to do there etc. Having been born and brought in Brunei, one thing she definitely doesn't understand is 'Stranger Danger'. Everyone to her is a friend and can be trusted. This is one of the main concerns I have with my kids at the moment. I will really need to take time and let them know what to say and what not to. Hopefully in time they will understand and accept the changes.
We spend over an hour at the library. This time around, there seemed to be more kids and my girls were familiar with the place unlike the first time we came. They read some books on their own and did ask if I could read some to them. We had a good time at the library and decided to head home as we were now getting hungry. On our way back, my younger one wanted to go say Hi to the man she spoke to but I tried and explained to her and she thankfully decided to not go for it.

On our way home, we passed by the local farmer's market and the girls were keen to see what all fruits and vegetables were available. They tried to name some and then remembered they were still hungry and so we rushed back home to fill our tummies. The fruits and vegetables at these farmer's markets are priced quite reasonably compared to the other supermarkets. I don't know if there is any difference in the quality though as I have not felt it so far. Maybe as I settle in, I may be able to tell the difference. So once we got home, we had lunch and watched some television together. The girls then had their bath and we played Spot-it. Appu came home late today as he had work to be completed. We had dinner once Appu was home and the girls went off to bed later.
Appu had enquired about viewing a few houses for tomorrow and we hope to get to make a better decision in the coming days. It definitely is a tedious task and nothing can be finalised until you enter the house as the seller can back out any minute apparently. We are also new to all this so we learn the tricks of the trade as we go.
Wishing you a very happy weekend.
Love
Ammu
