Day 26/366

Today was a bright and sunny morning so after I dropped the girls at school, went for a walk. Though the sun was bright and shinning, the breeze was very cool. Nevertheless, was nice to walk around before getting home. Remember I started the 10 days no-sweet challenge? Well yesterday I completed the 10 days and I must say, I kind off felt very nice to have accomplished it! The first few days were really difficult, especially because you see the kids eat cookies and cream biscuits. I did have sugar cravings, but I had my stock of medjool dates so had one when ever I felt like having something sweet. A healthy alternative and I think it will now be an essential in my groceries list. I used to make a banana chia date smoothie (like the one I made yesterday) on some days during my 10 day challenge.

Anyway so as a treat to having accomplished my 10 day no-sugar challenge, Appu got me a tub of mini bite brownies. So once I got back home and finished my cup of green tea, I finally broke my 10 day no-sugar challenge! I surprisingly did not feel all that excited upon eating my first brownie but was definitely absolutely chocolatey. It was also nice that I could enjoy it alone and not be worried that my girls were watching as we are trying to ask them to control their sweets intake. Settling an example for the girls to watch and learn than forcing them to do so, according to me, helps. My girls were aware of my no-sugar challenge and were very supportive and was impressed too. My older one, who is more of a sweet addict than the younger one, said she is also going to try and do it someday. I felt so happy she actually thought of it herself than me telling her. Anyways so after I devoured into my chocolate brownie box, I finished some of my house chores, took a quick nap and went to pick the girls from school.

We had to give back the car seats that we borrowed from Appu's friend last week, and the friend kindly asked to have dinner at his place tonight. They have kids around the same age as ours so my girls were excited too. They were tired from school and I knew if they didn't take a quick nap after school, they wouldn't survive the night at our friend's place. So after coming back from school, they had a quick shower and took a nap. By the time Appu got back from work, they were woken up and we got ready to leave home. It was a full moon night and the sight of a full bright moon was just beautiful! Did u guys see it too? I tried to take a picture of it (above) but did not do full justice to the bright and beautiful moon! We took some food and dessert to share tonight. The girls were so excited and they surely had a great time. We got home around 10.20 pm and the girls went to sleep around 10.45pm.
We had a great start to our weekend. What are your plans for today?
Love
Ammu
