Day 27/366

The weekend is here and like last week, we have a few houses shortlisted to view. The girls woke up a bit late this morning as they slept late last night. We had to leave home by 10 am as our first viewing was at 10.30am. My younger one wanted to help me make breakfast today. I have noticed that of my two girls, she is the one who shows more interest in cooking. We made steamed rice cake a.k.a Idli, it is a south Indian breakfast dish. We get to buy ready-made batter at a nearby asian store and the girls enjoy it with some chutney. While the Idlis were getting steamed on the stove, I started washing a few dishes. My younger one came rushing yet again to help. I let her wash a few plastic cups and containers. She had a sense of accomplishment after she finished her chores. Sweet girl, but a very naughty one too.

After breakfast, we left to start today's viewing. The girls have gotten used to this weekend tradition now but get really tired towards early evening. Feel bad for them but there is nothing we can do at this point. They entertain themselves or sometimes even fight amongst themselves too. We had lunch in between few viewings and the girls particularly like this place for two reasons, one the pub is dog friendly so the girls get to see dogs sometimes which to them is a very rare sight and two, the pub provides stationary and paper for kids to colour while waiting for their food to arrive. The location of this pub is convenient too as it has ample car parking and situated very close to the places that we have been viewing houses.

After we finished viewing all the houses (7 in total), we had to get to a shop to return a few items that were bought of the wrong size lat week and had to get a few more new items for their school activities. The girls by now were too tired and had slept off in the car. I went alone while Appu waited in the car with the girls. They slept till we got home and were woken up. We were all extremely exhausted but since the girls had already taken a nap in the car, weren't going to sleep soon, so it gave me enought time to cook dinner. We had Appam and Egg roast for dinner and watched some Malayalam movie together before all of us retired to bed together.
