The midday of the week, often referred to as Wednesday, acts as a pivotal point, offering a chance to reflect on achievements, adjust goals, and gather momentum for the remainder of the week. Whether it involves completing tasks, pursuing personal goals, or simply finding moments of relaxation, the midday of the week provides a chance to strike a balance between the demands of work and personal well-being. So me and my girls decided to put in some worthwhile fun time together. We decided to play one of their favourite games , Snake and Ladder. The unpredictable nature of the dice adds an element of excitement , creating a timeless and enjoyable experience for all 3 of us. Happy kids, happy Ammu.

The limited daylight hours in winter make each moment of sunshine cherished, encouraging people to savour the beauty of the season and appreciate the rejuvenating effects of sunlight on both the environment and the spirit. Today was one of those days where the sun was bright and shinning, so after lunch, we decided to go for a walk. We visited the nearby book store and bought some essentials too from the farmer's market that opens almost everyday. You get to choose from a few fresh fruits and vegetables. The avocados seemed nice and ripe so we got a bag (6 numbers for 1.5 pounds). Having soaked in some sun, and feeling very high in spirits, we came and made some guacamole. This recipe was shared by a dear friend of mine in Brunei and I have been a fan ever since. Will share the recipe with you too at the end of the blog.



Have you heard of healthy snacking? Well lately like i mentioned, I have been into intermittent fasting and Im trying my best to eat clean but hunger pangs strike at the wrong time of the day which ultimately lead you to snacking junk. So here is a little healthy snacking tip from me for today. Mixed Nuts! Yes, you heard me right. do you know the many benefits of eating a handful of mixed nuts daily? Here are a few i found;

  • Nutrient-rich: Mixed nuts provide a diverse array of essential nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats.

  • Heart health: The monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats in nuts contribute to heart health by lowering bad cholesterol levels and reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

  • Weight management: Despite being calorie-dense, the protein, fiber, and healthy fats in mixed nuts promote a feeling of fullness and curb excessive snacking.

  • Antioxidant properties: Nuts are rich in antioxidants, which help combat oxidative stress and inflammation in the body, lowering the risk of chronic diseases.

  • Blood sugar control: The combination of healthy fats, protein, and fiber in mixed nuts can contribute to stable blood sugar levels.

  • Brain health: Omega-3 fatty acids found in some nuts, like walnuts, are associated with improved cognitive function and contribute to maintaining brain health over time.

So next time you feel like having a snack, remember to try the mixed nuts.


Before i end my blog for the day, here is my friend's guacamole recipe


What you need;

  1. ripe avacados

  2. half onion chopped fine

  3. medium tomato chopped fine

  4. half lemon squeezed for juice

  5. cumin powder

  6. some coriander leaves finely chopped

Method :

  • Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl. Mash the avocados using a fork or potato masher until you reach your desired consistency (some people prefer it chunky, while others like it smoother).

  • Add the lime juice to the mashed avocados and mix in the diced red onion, tomato and coriander leaves.

  • Season the guacamole with salt and cumin powder to taste. Remember, you can always add more, so start with a small amount and adjust to your liking.

  • Gently fold all the ingredients together until well combined.

  • Taste the guacamole and adjust the lime, salt, or other ingredients if needed.

  • Serve your homemade guacamole with tortilla chips, tacos or nachos. Enjoy!
