We still have a few more bags to sort from the air cargo that was delivered on Tuesday. Unfortunately like I said earlier, there isn't enough space in our temporary accommodation to fit all of our stuff. Nevertheless, Appu and I sorted some of it this morning after the girls had finished breakfast. The girls weren't very keen to go out when asked this morning but later, they changed minds and so we decided to visit the nearby park which also had a museum in it. The museum has displays of anthropology, natural history and musical instruments. It is also known to have a large collection of taxidermied animals. The gardens were said to have animals like alpaca, hens, sheeps , rabbits etc too. It wasn't very far from where we live so decided to go visit the place.
Though it was not too cold outside, there breeze falling on our face would give you stlight shivers. We walked around the gardens a bit and waited for Appu to park the car and then got into the museum. I must say the girls were just so excited to see the exhibits! They were truly amazing! Appu and I enjoyed reading and looking at them too.

I never knew that a walrus was this huge! Having seen them in Zoo and mostly in water or very far away, it never struck me that they were of this size! This particular piece was one among the top attractions in the museum. This is also taxidermied walrus apart from the numerous other birds, reptiles, monkeys, boars, penguins and many more. The varieties of each speciesthat were exhibited there was so fascinating.
We did take a break in between to have lunch at the cafe inside the museum and then went for a walk around the gardens and also visited few animals in the animal walk area. They had alpacas, sheeps , varieties of rabbits, guinea pigs, and goats. Though we are not allowed to touch them, the girls were excited to see for the first time alpacas and the different breeds of rabbits.

We continued our tour inside the museum and came across this wishing tree (picture above). There were small tags in which you could either write what you wish for or write what you are thankful for! Appu and the girls wrote something on the tags and hanged them on the tree. Girls felt like they were now part of the museum since they now had something with their names on the tree.
We left the museum around 3 pm as the girls were getting tired and so were we. On our way home, we stoped to get our car washed and then headed home. The girls played while Appu had some work to finish and I started cooking for dinner.

I have never felt the burden of cooking everyday I must confess. On the contrary I'm really enjoying having home cooked meals. It gives me a sense of satisfaction feeding my family. I guess its hereditary! My grandmother was known to be always enthusiastic about cooking and feeding people and so is my mother! After all the apple hasn't fallen too far from the tree. The girls went to bed and Appu got back to work. I watched some movie online and then decided to get to bed.
How is your weekend so far? Hope you are keeping well.
Love
Ammu
