The rains continued pouring last night too and the it didn't stop this morning when we had to walk to school. So the girls wore their boots and I carried their school shoes in a bag to change once we get to school. It was not raining heavily but we still needed to cover our heads with the hoods in our jacket. I felt we needed better rain jackets as the one we had wasn't probably the best ones for the rainy weather. After dropping the girls at school, I came back home as it was still raining. Surprisingly Appu also felt that we needed to get rain jackets other than the ones we had now. So we ordered them online and hope to get it delivered over the weekend. It's funny here, there is a jacket or coat for every season or weather condition. We will definitely take time to understand all this.

After I got home, since I did not go for my usual walk, I had a lot of time in hand and I was in a mood to cook. I recently discovered the recipe for homemade nutella and I had purchased the ingredients for the same the last time I did grocery shopping. So I finally got to try the recipe today! It wasn't too difficult but since we are still at the temporary accommodation, we didn't have all my kitchen appliances. What I particularly needed for making this nutella was a small jar food processor or blender. Nevertheless, I worked with what I had and made a healthy version to a store bought nutella. The sugar substitute used was Medjool dates and cane sugar. I used cacao powder instead of cocoa powder which has more health benefits. Over all I was very happy with the end product and I hope to keep making this over buying the commercial one.
Today being the last day before the school breaks for mid-term holidays, I had to go an hour earlier to school as my older daughter's class had an open class event where the parents were invited to have a look at the progress of their child and understand what he/she has been learning in the past half term. It was a good opportunity for me, being new to school, to understand what my daughter was being taught in school. I got to see her books and her work in class. Briefly met a few the other parents whose kids are in the same class too.

After we got back, the girls wanted to go for a walk as they were excited for their first school break. I didn't find a reason to say no so we dropped the bags at home and went out for a walk. As usual the girls walked around their familiar places and then we headed home. I wanted to make a special dinner to celebrate their school break. Made appam and fish curry. I also made a raspberry lemonade and both my girls enjoyed it. Happy girls, Happy Ammu. They went to bed after their night time routine. Appu had some work to do so I sat and watched a movie on YouTube before heading to bed.
Hope you are keeping well
Love
Ammu
